The following are standardized design guides developed for HQ Air
Force Services. They have been developed to a 35% design and are
intended for planning purposes only.
You will notice a difference in the square footages (SF) mentioned
in the Design Analyses and the Cost Estimates. The design Analysis
works in terms of Assignable or Net SF while the Cost Estimate deals
with Gross SF. Assignable SF does not include wall thicknesses because
construction techniques can vary from base to base. Also, covered
porches are not included in the Assignable calculations. The Gross
SF includes both the wall thicknesses and covered porches.
