Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) 4-740-21F, Design: Arts
& Crafts/Auto Hobby Shops was developed HQ Air Force Services
Agency (HQ AFSVA) and provides guidelines for evaluating, planning,
programming, and designing arts and crafts centers and auto
hobby shops that support the Air Force’s (AF) arts and
crafts programs.
These standards advance the goal of achieving consistent, enhanced
quality facilities at all installations. Guidance is provided
for the development of Arts & Crafts/Auto Hobby Shops appropriate
for each individual base and its local program operations and
requirements. The Guide, an Executive Summary, and a building
space calculator (including equipment lists, lighting, and finish
schedules) can be downloaded below.
This information may be used by architects/engineers (A/E),
designers, base civil engineers (BCE), library directors, Major
Command (MAJCOM) and headquarters review personnel, and others
involved in the development and approval of Arts & Crafts/Auto
Hobby Shops construction projects. It is intended to help all
participants better understand Air Force Arts & Crafts/Auto
Hobby Shops requirements, programs, and design criteria so they
can effectively participate in the project development process.
